I've stopped using the ijustran application on FB. I began to feel like FB wasn't the place to share that information because most of my FB friends could probably care less how many miles I ran this morning. The dailymile site is exclusive to running or exercise. I only have 2 friends on the site now. My first friend added me because I was running the Richmond marathon. We were able to encourage one another even though we had never met. He's from another state. The other friend is a local RVA runner. I've been able to glean some great information about doing my first ultra from him.
The site also has some neat features besides serving as a training journal. For example in the Lifetime stats section I've burned 178 donuts and run enough to power 582 tvs. Log enough miles and it will tell you how many times you've circled the globe. You can also join a race event group and follow others who will be doing that event. The 10K group has close to 50 other dailymile members.
If you are doing the Ukrops 10K, I recommend you create an account and encourage others to join you on the dailymile. Please look me up and add me as a friend. I'm not doing the Monument Ave. this year, but I would really like to encourage you in your efforts.
